“Borat” welcomes Kazakh suit

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, on a website supposedly maintained by his “Borat” character, claims to welcome the Kazakhstan government’s threats to take legal action against him for his spoof. (”‘Sue me’, says Borat”, Stuff (N.Z.), Nov. 28; Althouse, Nov. 25; see Nov. 16).

    To be precise, “Borat” states that he has “no connection with Mr. Cohen and fully support[s] my government’s position to sue this Jew.”

    Similarly, Sarah Silverman tells the New Yorker that she would welcome a lawsuit from Joe Franklin over her joke in “The Aristocrats.” I need to find an on-line link for that.

    A recent South Park episode spoofing Scientology and Tom Cruise (who locked himelf in a closet and was urged to come out of the closet) ends with Scientology and Cruise threatening to sue Stan. Stan screams “Go ahead, sue me. I dare you.”

    Everyone on the credits was either John or Jane Smith.
