I am graphically challenged.
That said I would suggest a
circle with Overlawyered.com around the rim of the circle with a broken scale in the center.

Readers come through with logos

Once again we have reason to be grateful to our readers, since about a dozen of you responded generously to our request last week for an Overlawyered logo measuring 130 pixels wide by 150 pixels…

Thanks to the many supportive readers from around the world (at least a half-dozen of you already, in less than twelve hours) who’ve sent in prospective logos. A couple of observations:

* Some of the proposed logos separate our site name into two capitalized words: “Over” + “Lawyered”, typically on separate lines. Although these include some of the best-looking entries, we’ve pretty consistently avoided the “OverLawyered” way of rendering our name in favor of writing it solid with no interior capitals. That’s tougher for logo-making, of course.

* Extra points for allusions to our pink and gray color scheme, though it isn’t really necessary. But no animations, please.

* As to gavels, scales, etc., we need to be very sure of their public domain status, lest we turn into one of our own news items.

Can it be animated? That would be one way to scroll or flash sequential text. The proverbial “good start” of 1000 dead lawyers on the bottom of the ocean is doubtless too complex for a small logo.

A large gavel descending on, and about to crush, a person. The site name can be under, over, next to the picture.

How about the Justice holding the scales with the word Over on one side and Lawyered on the other, with the word Lawyered on the low side indicating lawyers tipping the scales.
