Are viruses easily able to propogate through OS X by means of Outlook?

I am considering the switch, but the reason why I have not switched to Thunderbird, *nix, or OS X is because I am in love with Outlook and it’s really sexy interface… even though it is highly bloated and I use about 1% of the features.

* FTP: Yummy FTP (or RBrowser Lite)
* Maintenance: MacMedic and AppleJack
