Because the activity they are suing over is protected First Amendment speech? Pretty simply, really. The chances of them succeeding at trial are zero. They’re just trying to get him to shut up.

And, uh, extortion? The defamation claime at least makes sense (though it’s wrong), but I saw nothing in that article that would sound like extortion… A little help?

Why is the last link, about Todd Layne Cleaners, described as a “frivolous lawsuit” above? According to the article, the lawsuit does not seem frivolous; it sounds like the Cleaners is trying to defend itself against extortion and defamation.
