In a country where every ethnic group has a lobby able to bend Congress’ ear (with one big notable exception), what we’re beginning to see is forced wealth transfers from one group to the other, on top of the older formula of rich to poor. The individualism-favoring models of the traditional West crumble in the face of new and powerful ethnic voting blocks that seek the advancement of their own group, and damn the rest.
