If the son was stopped multiple times for speeding, why was he still on the road.

I have no sympathy for those who choose to cruise with maniacal drivers.

Having insurance doesn’t make an accident less likely to occur. It merely is a pot of money you can go to if you get hurt.

In the Tampa area where Mr. Bollea has resided for decades, he has the reputation as a pretty savvy businessman. He certainly had plenty or warning that his son was a risk for a large claim: there were various reports that the son had been stopped multiple times for excessive speed on Florida highways before the accident. Mr. Bollea may pick up a couple dollars from Wells Fargo to go away, but his reputation as having business smarts will take a large hit.
