Just recently where I live a driver was charged with murder for running down and killing a pedestrian. He’s charged with intentional homicide, not recklessness.

Almost all are negligent, and this appears to be garden variety negligence.

I doubt that the driver’s insurance company will voluntarily pay for Mr. Lord’s medicals or dental or pain and suffering or lost earnings (whatever that may be). In his case, seeing a lawyer is a good idea if he wants to be adequately compensated.

The system is no good in that it eats up vast resources (lots at taxpayer expense) to resolve simple matters such as thisd one.
