I once handled a case in which we asked the plaintiff and his family members where they found their sleazy, semi-competent lawyer. They kept saying "the phone book," which we, as defense counsel, found quite improbable. After all, how does one settle on some lawyer at random out of the phone book?

And then I went to the Yellow Pages (remember those?), where I found the plaintiff's counsel had the first page - the full page - in the Attorneys section. That was this ambulance chaser's stock in trade: for the extremely lazy client who didn't have the energy to go to page two of hte Attorneys section, he was easy to find.
