Although I’ve have never been sued the mentality of the adversarial relationship between patients/lawyers and physicians always hangs over every encounter. This is a main reason why I plan on getting out of clinical medicine and switching careers over the next couple years.

Doctors are smart and once they begin to realize their ideals about helping mankind are bunk or the money isn’t worth it anymore, they will leave the field. It may take a generation, but we will end up with lawyers suing midlevel providers because that is all that is left to practice medicine.
