I love this little tidbit about her that is on the environmental health trust website.

She also served as a Lead Author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change—the group awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 with the Honorable Al Gore.

Yes only the top climate researchers serve on the IPCC!

I was curious about the scientific background, if any, of Devra Davis, the author of the cell phone book. According to the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devra_Davis) she has a Master's in Public Health, which one would hope would have given her the background necessary to do a reasonable job. Her Ph.D. is in "science studies". Without knowing about the particular program I can't be sure, but the term frequently describes not serious meta-science but the silly postmodernist "critique" of science by people with little understanding of it. This makes me wonder whether this is someone who actually does have the basic knowledge and skills to evaluate epidemiological research but has chosen not to apply them.
