Every time we have a scare like this (alar, anyone?) I just go back to that well worn standard "Just how in hell did we manage to survive so long with all these nasty problems?". The only real lasting effect won't be from the alleged arsenic, oh no. It will come from some crusading congresscritter who just cannot put facts before cameratime. Unfortunately, that all ends in another regulation costing God-knows how much money to comply with, which does little to nothing to address the question, and which will never go away. In the mean time, in our ADD addled society, another "scare" will pop up for some breathless reporter to earn their shot at a Pulitzer, with no real research or voice of reason to put a restraint on said report. It's all enough to make me want to chew a foot off.

So the article that touched off this little kerfluffle is quoting extensively from a press release....and the actual study is apparently not yet available.

I'd normally grumble here about innumerate reporters, but this is worse than that. We have a flap with no data on which to base a reasonable risk assessment.
