If you want to allow old white men to have birdbaths because “it’s no harm” then you have to explain individually to every young black woman why it’s not actually discrimination to fine her for having standing water in the tire tracks in her yard.

It takes 2 weeks for mosquito eggs to hatch. To prevent this, you can:
1) add something like “Mosquito Dunks” to the water. Or…
2) You can change the water every week or so. Most bird lovers will change it every other day, however. Or….
3) As Bill H noted, get an small pump. If you don’t want to deal with the electricity, get a small solar pump or a solar water “wiggler.”

If you don’t let it go dry, a 10 cent goldfish will take care of the bugs, at least till a bird takes care of the goldfish.

Same thing with running a small, inexpensive aquarium pump. Moving water =/= stagnant water. It doesn’t even have to be on continually.

This is probably a little too advanced for a nanny state to grasp.

Someone with more technological know-how than me should modify these birdbaths so that they attract animals that feed on mosquitoes. Is there any way to make a birdbath that attracts, I dunno… birds?

Silly me, I thought that many birds eat insects and there larve. Don’t see too much of a threat here. Another group of leftists knowing how to live your life better than you.
