Dot com addresses are regulated by the US Department of Commerce. If you don’t want the United States confiscating your domain name, do not register a domain under a top-level domain controlled by the US government. Simple.

I would mind if US would not started seizing .com domains without warning, explanation or at least some remotely just process. Habit of seizing a domain and returning it back after a year with no explanation or at least “sorry” will not get you much trust.
