There was a similar case a few years back. I don’t recall much, other than (a) (slightly more honestly) he billed it as “client consultation; and (b) his defense was, “Well, it was in my office, and I was thinking about the case during sex, because that’s when I get inspiration.”

That happened here in Illinois some years back.

I dealt with the lawyer in question in a case. He’d have been a fine pimp in another life.

Marco, you ruined all of the run, really. But your point is well taken.

I have a hard time passing severe judgment in some of these lawyer dating – or whatever – client cases. I mean, it is certainly wrong. But it is the way you often meet people in the real world – through work. It is how I met my wife (opposing counsel, not a client). But this is just a case of one human finding a weak person and taking advantage of them.

This lawyer took advantage of a mentally disturbed woman, then tossed her away and wouldn’t represent her during the divorce. She attempted suicide.
Lowe had previously been on probation for cocaine abuse.

Maybe there is a lawyer joke hiding in there, but I don’t have the stomach to write it.
