That the machinery of government chooses to enforce that lawlessness will not, ultimately, bode well for those of us who want a free society in which the people may govern themselves.

Ms. Davis is not a sympathetic character—but perhaps, just perhaps the victims of an appalling decision like Zavydas v. Davis evoke more sympathy.
