Why might schedules change? Employees call in sick and there can even be a wave of illness. Unless you can bring in the non-sick employees, you can&#039;t stay open. You cannot schedule people getting sick. Some event in town may bring lots of customers to your store. You cannot always predict this. One way that business helps people who have some issue (child care, car breakdown, illness) is by adjusting schedules. Making schedules rigid actually can hurt people who have an emergency.
