On the air

I was interviewed this afternoon for New York’s WCBS Channel 2 evening news on the Supreme Court vacancy, then joined host Chris Core of Washington, D.C.’s WMAL this evening for a discussion after it had become clear that the President’s Supreme Court pick would be Judge John Roberts. Tomorrow, I’ll be on KPCC, public radio in Southern California.

ABC News Now today

I’ll be on ABC News Now, ABC’s webcast service, at 5:35 PM Eastern, talking about the Supreme Court nomination. There will be a rebroadcast at 9:05 PM, but I’ll be watching the president’s speech instead of my wild guess of the gender of his nominee. Needless to say, the “Guilt or Innocence” show did not discuss the London bombings.

Broadcast appearances

I’m scheduled to join a reporter and anchor in the studios of New York’s WCBS-Channel 2 this afternoon to discuss the retirement of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor; look for me sometime in the 5-to-6 p.m. slot.

More (7:30 p.m. Eastern): I’ll be on WCBS-TV again tomorrow between 9 and 10 a.m. for a second appearance. And (updated) on Monday morning I did two Texas radio phone interviews, including KTSA (San Antonio) with Steve Gehrlein, on the battle over Justice O’Connor’s seat, and KOLE (Beaumont), on the litigation explosion. P.S. on WCBS I mentioned Judge Edith Jones. It’s fun to be a mentioner!

Welcome Small Business Advocate listeners

I was a guest on Jim Blasingame’s national radio program “The Small Business Advocate” yesterday, discussing class actions and other topics. You can listen to the show live on the web; one way to find the link is from his archive of law-related shows. Jim Blasingame was kind enough to call The Rule of Lawyers “one of my favorite books”; you can find a copy on Amazon (hardcover or paperback). For more information on how employment lawsuits have watered down strength prerequisites for law enforcement jobs (such as those guarding courthouses in Atlanta and other places), check this Point of Law post.

TV and radio today: Fox, NRA News

Fox News’s “DaySide” has booked me today to discuss an assortment of unusual or colorful lawsuits recently noted on this site. I’m scheduled to be on between 1 and 2 p.m. Eastern, probably around 1:20 p.m. (Update: for more on the cases discussed, follow the links: high-speed cop chase; train crash worsened his drinking; “Fear Factor“; pharmacy theft; concert noise; “beware of dog” signs.)

Also, at 4:40 p.m. Eastern, I’ll be live on the Cam Edwards show, which streams at nranews.com (National Rifle Association) and Sirius satellite radio, to discuss my NY Times piece on NYC gun law (more).
