  • “KINGSTON – Coming soon to physicians’ waiting rooms in the area: a postcard/poster campaign by the Medical Society of New York State, accusing trial lawyers of causing excessive malpractice insurance rates and driving doctors out of practice.”

Oh say it aint so! Actually, I am not sure which group is the bigger parasite really. My personal opinion is that doctors do far, far more damage than good but then lawyers rarely do any good at all. Too funny watching them square off. Got my popcorn and beer ready!

  • Re: The New York medical society’s plan to put informational posters and postcards in docs’ waiting rooms:

An interesting article, but I think a very counterproductive strategy for some doctors. I discuss this over at my blog in: Medical Malpractice Politics In The Doctor’s Waiting Room Is A Bad Idea

  • “My personal opinion is that doctors do far, far more damage than good…”

Which is why so many people still die of cancer, the flu, small pox, blood loss from minor injuries, infections of minor injuries, and myriad other things that keep our averag lifespan at about 40…

Seriously, I don’t think doctors are anything close to perfect, but to claim they do more harm than good is so obviously wrong as to suggest the speaker has another agenda or needs a rubber room with a good solid lock on the outside of it.

  • I think the general idea is that in so many cases, doctors prescribe drugs or perform procedures when other actions are far better (change diet, get exercise, take natural supplements, etc., instead of drugs).

It all comes back to personal responsibility. (Doesn’t it always?) Most people would rather take a pill than make a change. They want the quick and easy way.
