The harm one prolific litigant can do

Just one of many parties unhappily entangled by a “prolific, abusive” litigant: Massachusetts man who sold a $40 printer on Craigslist spends more than six years defending Indiana litigation [Indianapolis Star]

  • Imagine if all these talented people were doing something useful instead.

  • What has the legal community in Indiana done to shut down this man? Don’t they have a vexatious litigant process that prevents individuals like him from filing a lawsuit without first getting permission of the court? It’s been my experience that dealing with people like this is a low priority for the bar because they’re not the ones who are personally harmed.
